The  32nd annual edition of the Fête des Neiges de Montréal (winter festival), will be held on weekends from January 17 to February 8, 2015.  Mayor Denis Coderre (see photo, centre) was on hand Jan. 15 to encourage Montrealers to take advantage of this winter festival.

Access to the site (Parc Jean Drapeau) is free. Fees, however, apply for many of the activities which include:

·         Food trucks

·         Tube slide / Disco-tube (sledding)

·         Bing Bang Bulle (dressing up in a giant plastic ball)

·         Horse-drawn sleigh rides

·         Dog-sled rides

·         Ferris wheel with view on downtown Montreal

·         Live ice-sculpturing performances

·         Parcours Télé-Québec (obstacle course)

·         Boule de Neige (the polar bear mascot)

    Citizens Being Asked to Help Save Monarch Butterflies in Canada

Montréal, June 8, 2016 – The Insectarium, a Montréal Space for Life institution, 
in co-operation with the Institut de recherche en biologie végétale (IRBV), the 
Université du Québec à Rimouski, the University of Ottawa and the University of 
Calgary, is currently conducting a national scale study of monarch breeding 
habitats and asking citizens to get involved.
