User Rating: / 0

The Fête de la famille 2016 (family festival)  takes place Sunday, September 4. This is the 17th edition of this free, largely outdoor event that is reminiscent of Montreal’s Fête des Enfants. On the menu are family activities, spectacles, and amusements for all.  Families are invited to discover many free family activities such as spectacles (the beloved Caillou will be present at 10:30 AM), animation, mascots, inflatable games, and more. Don’t miss this remarkable event which brings together young and old.

Past editions have included such events as photo ops with mascots, gardening lessons, demonstrations of medieval jousting and sword fighting, clowns, face painting, inflatable games, a fire fighters’ challenge. For teenagers, there is often a graffiti wall, a climbing tower, obstacle course, roller board contest with a DJ. For all, there have been lessons given on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with certificates issued on the spot.

The Centre de la Nature is a large municipal park situated in a magnificently landscaped former quarry with farm animals, a village of miniature houses, a greenhouse, swimming pools, an astronomical observatory, hiking trails, paddle boats, and much more. In the event of rain, there are places to take cover. Information on the website (below) is only given in French, suggesting that most programming will take place in French only. Free shuttle busses will operate around the site.
